APSR-JRS Young Investigator Award

This award will be available to APSR Young Investigators from Japanese Respiratory Society (JRS) at each APSR Congress.

The JRS awards committee will select the best three abstracts from all JRS members who have applied, and who have been accepted for presenting their work.

The Award:
  • $500
  • Congress registration
  • A commemorative certificate
  • Travel grant based on the distance from the awardee's usual place of residence to the host country
  • Up to four nights' accommodation at an APSR-designated hotel
  • Invitation to the Gala Dinner (or similar social event) for the award ceremony
(Note: This item might be changed due to the situation of COVID-19)
  • The awardee may also be introduced on the APSR website, Bulletin and social media.
The Awardee:
  • May apply for this Award when they submit their abstract to the Congress
  • Must have been an JRS member for 5 years or longer
  • Must be aged ≤40 at the start of the Congress
  • Must comply with other conditions according to the JRS rules
  • Must be the First Author and able to present the abstract at the Congress
  • Cannot be a winner of any other award for the same abstract nor have other travel support
  • Must register for the Congress before their individual "cut-off date".
The cut-off date will be provided by the Congress Secretariat after their abstract has been accepted. This date will be earlier than the usual registration deadline, to enable the programme schedule to be compiled and awards to be considered.
  • The Awardee is required to send a report (circa 500 words) of their experience at the Congress to the APSR Secretariat within one month after the APSR Congress. The report may be published on the Young Investigators webpage, APSR Bulletin and/or Newsletter.
